We are

Not A Stranger.

Not A Stranger is an immigrant-led initiative created to:

  • raise public awareness about the newly published 2025 Immigration White Paper;

  • mobilise the most affected communities to take part in the upcoming consultation.

This is about power, dignity, and belonging.

Those of us impacted should have a voice in shaping the future. Through storytelling and solidarity, Not A Stranger works to centre migrant voices, amplify our experiences, and challenge the narrative that paints us as outsiders. We are not strangers—we are your neighbours, your friends, your co-workers, your family.

Our Mission

Empower migrant communities to shape the policies that affect our lives.

Our Approach

We challenge the narratives that dehumanise migrants -- and build collective strength by affirming a simple truth: we are not strangers. We are neighbours, classmates, carers, friends. Migrants are part of the everyday life of this country -- and always have been.

At a time when migration is too often met with suspicion or silence, we are building the tools to help people speak up and be heard. We believe that everyone should have a say in the decisions that shape their future -- no matter where they were born.

We work to
  • Inform migrants and communities about changes to immigration policy and what they could mean in real life;
  • Equip and encourage people to participate in civic life, especially those who’ve been shut out of them;
  • Amplify migrant voices by using digital storytelling and community-empowering tools to surface lived experience and rehumanise public debate.

Our Team

We are a team of political technologists keen to make the public's voices heard.
